Pelagic and Coastal Vessels
Logbooks for the fisheries below are mailed out to permit holders at the end of each year. Note: Copies of forms are not valid for reporting purposes so they are not provided here.
- Atlantic highly migratory species fisheries
- South Atlantic snapper-grouper, Gulf of America reef fish, shark, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, Atlantic dolphin/wahoo fisheries
- Wreckfish fisheries
Fisheries Electronic Reporting System
The system, also referred to as FERS, allows southeast commercially permitted vessels to register and submit “No Fishing” reports online.

Golden Crab Vessel Logbooks
Logbooks for reporting catch and effort information for the Golden Crab fishery is mailed out to permit holders upon renewal and request. Permit holder return logbooks to SEFSC at the end of each trip.
South Atlantic and Gulf Reef Fish Dealer Reporting
Federally permitted dealers who purchase reef fish from the South Atlantic and Gulf of America report electronically through their state trip ticket program. A copy of the data is shared with NOAA Fisheries for use in quota monitoring.
*Executive Order 14172, “Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness” (Jan. 20, 2025), directs that the Gulf of Mexico be renamed the Gulf of America. Gulf of America references in this website refer to the same area as the Gulf of Mexico in the applicable regulations under 50 CFR parts 216–219, 222–226, and 600–699. The name change did not result in any changes to, and had no effect on the applicability or enforceability of, any existing regulations. This website continues to use “Gulf of Mexico” when quoting statutes, existing regulations, or previously published materials.
